We are looking for the passionate innovative entrepreneurial leader to join our team and play a key role in driving our mandate!

The Supply Chain and Logistics Leader will be responsible for providing leadership and overall direction for Embark Health Inc’s supply chain and logistics, including during the start-up phase, defining supply chain and logistics scorecard, building a team, and other related activities. The incumbent will be both strategic and hands-on. The position can be based out of Toronto or Vancouver.

In this exciting role, you will:

  • Plan and implement the overall supply chain strategy of maintaining optimal inventory levels at

    various stages in the supply chain to achieve company sales projections as well as mitigate risks associated with inventory exposure.

  • Overseeing the consistent interpretation, implementation and achievement of short and long

    term objectives, policies, budgets, and operating plans.

  • Conduct research, data analysis and modelling to define insights and continually improve supply chain logistics.

  • Develop a supply chain scorecard, conduct ongoing tracking, analysis and reporting on performance against KPI’s (including fuel surcharges, expediting costs, freight consolidation, additional 3PL locations).

  • Responsible for vendor management by determining the best vendors, suppliers and distributors to utilize, build and maintain good relationships, and continually evaluate and rationalize current supplier base

  • Conduct vendor contract negotiations to develop and implement Supply Agreements with Key Vendors and other projects that benefit the company through reduced pricing, increased efficiencies, and/or reduced risk.

  • Responsible for managing, providing strategic direction, and minimizing cost and transit times with respect to all aspects of inbound/outbound freight and customs compliance.

  • Evaluate packaging for cost effective utilization of transportation (size and density, ocean and air).

  • Manage the department using PPV (Purchase Price Variances) and supplier scorecards.

  • Develop, maintain and monitor customs & logistic supplier contracts and relationship including billing, compliance, duty/tariff codes and the maximization of duty recovery including

  • Establish best practices for data acquisition and evaluation, risk assessment, stakeholder identification and involvement, using RFP evaluations and contract negotiations.

  • Manage and expand, as required, remote warehousing including 3PL warehouse locations.

  • Build, lead and manage supply management operational team, including establishing department priorities, hiring, onboarding, performance management, and developing team skills/capabilities

  • Collaborate and liaise with Sales, Operations, Quality, Customer Service teams and other internal departments to develop policies and procedures as well as monitor overall compliance

  • Identifying the improvements and opportunities (within the supply chain) for the business by analyzing needs, determining resource requirements, managing financial and legal obligations, and providing timely and accurate information/recommendations, reports and analysis.

What we’re looking for:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree plus a minimum 15 years’ related experience within a pharmaceutical or CPG manufacturing environment

  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience leading and managing a team, including experience in developing and implementing strategic team goals, coaching employees and driving successful team performance.

  • SCMP designation would be considered an asset

  • Experience across the supply chain – customer service, logistics, warehousing, inventory, procurement.

  • Solid experience in international logistics import/export protocol, including cross border NAFTA/ New CAN/MEX/USA Agreement regulations/process, control and execution.

  • Experience with strategic sourcing, production planning and scheduling and demand management leveraging Material Requirements Planning concepts and systems.

  • Experienced in inventory control and warehousing in GMP & cGMP environments.

  • Proficiency in ERP software systems, like Sage and Ample Organics to manage, control and trace inventory.

  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office (specifically Excel)
